Verbs in Russian can take on many different meanings depending on which prefix you put in front of it. For this reason, it can get difficult trying to remember what they all mean and when to use them! My best advice for learning Russian verbs with prefixes is to memorize them in context. So not only memorize “Okay, дочитать means to read until the end,” but instead “Okay, дочитать means to read until the end. You can дочитать things such as книгу, статью, и т.д.” In this article, you’ll find 11 variations of the verb читать with prefixes + examples of how to use them! If you want feedback on any example sentences, comment below using these verbs!
