In Russian, the majority of verbs have a root that can form into 5, 10, sometimes 15 different words, depending on the prefix you place in front of it. Because there are so many, I would often get them jumbled in my head, so I began to compile lists of verb roots and all of the different prefix combinations. This allows learners to see all of the different ways verb prefixes can alter its meaning, analyze general trends in verb prefixes, and more easily memorize which verb prefix is used in which situations. These verb lists are ideal for intermediate-advanced students who are interested in advancing their general understanding of the Russian language and diving deeper into more precise and specialized vocabulary.
